Mike Finkel

Mike Finkel is a Dallas-based composer, songwriter, educator, and performer. Mike was recently appointed as the Artistic Director for the Dallas Jazz Piano Society. He has performed and/or recorded with: Marc Cohn, David “Fathead” Newman, Hank Mobley, April Smith and the Great Picture Show, Julie Peel, Michael Bolton, Delbert McClinton, Grover Washington Jr., Elliott Randall, Summer Ames, Lee Greenwood, Richie McDonald (Lone Star), John Lefler and many others.

Mike’s compositions have been featured on many TV Shows/Commercials and Films including The Orange Bowl, MLB All-Star Game, NCAA Basketball on NBC and commercials by Pepsi, Frito Lay and Radio Shack. Mike also was part of the team that worked with LucasFilms to develop songs for the Kinect Star Wars game.

He has been a Music Educator for 20+ years teaching students of all ages (from 3 to 80) and skill levels (hobbyist to professional) on; Piano, Keyboards, Trumpet, Songwriting, Music Production, Ableton Live, Guitar, Drums and Improvisation.
